The PADI System of Diver Education

Looking at a flowchart for the PADI System of diver education, one might conclude that its purpose is to take you to Master Scuba Diver or to PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor. But that is not it at all!

Becoming a PADI Master Scuba Diver, or Divemaster, or Instructor, isn’t the purpose of the system, but a result of achieving its purpose.

The purpose of the PADI System is to provide the means by which you

• meet dive people
• go places diving
• do things underwater

Our 3-Phase Scuba Career Program

This program is designed for candidates who are PADI Open Water divers. (Please check for SSI/BSAC/CMAS Corresponding Levels with PADI).

In order to take part in the Instructor Examination you have to have been certified as an Open Water diver for at least 6 months. In addition you will need 100 logged dives.

Since Dive Asia is a PADI Career Development Center you can participate in the IE prior to meeting the experience requirement of 100 dives, when enrolled in five of the CDC's pre- and/or post-IDC courses. Candidates who successfully complete a PADI IDC conducted by the CDC may attend a PADI IE if they have been certified divers for at least six months, have logged at least 60 dives and are certified PADI Assistant Instructors. Certification as a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor will take place when the 100 dives requirement has been met.
