Trip Itinerary November to April

Trip A: Similan Islands

Similan Islands – (3days/3 nights – 10 dives)

Day of departure

Transfer by minibus to the harbour of Tab Lamu. Checking in at the boat, boat briefing and dinner.
Departure time is approx. at 19:30 o’clock.

Day 1

4 dives/Similan – on the first day of our safari we start with a check dive on the island #4.
On this day we will make the other dives at the island #7. Besides, the possibility exists for a beach trip.

Day 2

4 dives/Similan – on the second day of our safari we will dive at the best places of the Similan islands, for example Elephant Head and on the divesites of island #8. Here the chance exists to meet sharks and rays. Furthermore we offer a beach trip to Similan island #8 with its white beaches and crystal clear water.

Day 3

2 dives/Similan – on the third day another 2 dives on the island #9, the most northern island of the Similans. Then we will change on a day tour boat to go back to the harbour.

Trip B: Similan Islands, Koh Bon, Koh Tachai, Richelieu Rock and Surin Island – (4 days/3 nights – 13 dives)

Day 1

3 dives/Similan Islands and Koh Bon – pick up at the hotel in Khao Lak at approx. 7:30 AM and transfer to the harbour. Then we go by daytrip boat to the Similan islands #8 where we change  to the MV Bavaria. Then after a short briefing it immediately goes to a check dive on the island #9, the most northern island of the Similans. Then we drive further to Koh Bon, to one of the best known divesites for Manta sightings. Around the rock and on Koh Bon Pinnacle rays are to be found over and over and again Mantas. The best time is from middle of December till April. Here we also make the remaining two dives.

Day 2

4 dives/Koh Tachai and Surin Island – on the second day of our safari 2 dives on Koh Tachai. The place is known for tortoises and leopard sharks. But also Manta and with some luck also a whale shark is to be found in the Pinnacle around Koh Tachai. Then we drive further to the Surin islands where we will make the remaining two dives of the day. Tortoises, big parrot fish, reef sharks, Napoleon and many other small reef inhabitants are to be found here. After the third dive we have the possibility to visit a sea Gipsy’s village on the Surin islands.

Day 3

4 dives/Surin island and Richelieu Rock – early in the morning we can experience the wild nature of the Surin islands and the smaller islands. We start the day with a dive on the Surin islands and then go further to Richelieu Rock, one of the best known diving places in Thailand. Here one can find almost everything, from seahorse  up to schools of barracudas, to tunas and cuttlefishes. Also big fish like Mantas and whale sharks are regularly sighted here . We will make3 dives, before we will return to  Koh Tachai and Koh Bon and after to tab Lamu.

Day 4

2 dives/Koh Tachai and Koh voucher – we make the first dive at Koh Tachai and then we drive for the last dive to Koh Bon, before we start the return journey to the harbour.

Trip C: Similan Islands, Koh Bon, Koh Tachai, Richelieu Rock and Surin Island – (6 days/6 nights – 22 dives)

Day of departure

Transfer by minibus to the harbour Tab Lamu. Checking in on the boat, boat briefing and dinner, departure time is approx. at 19:30 o’clock.

Day 1

4 dives/Similan – on the first day of our safari we start with a check dive on the island #4.
On this day we will make the other dives at the island #7. Besides, the possibility exists for a beach trip.

Day 2

4 dives/Similan – on the second day of our safari we will dive on the best places of the Similan Islands, as for example Elephant Head and the divesites of the island #8. Here the chance exists to see sharks and rays. Furthermore we offer a land trip to Similan island #8 with its white beaches and crystal clear water.

Day 3

4 dives/Similan and Kho Bon – on the third day of our safari we will do another 2 dives on the island #9, the most northern island of the Similans. Then we  drive to Koh Bon, to one of the best known divesites for Manta sightings. Around the rock and on Koh Bon Pinnacle rays are to be found and  again Mantas. The best time is from middle of December till April. Here we will make our remaining 2 dives.

 Day 4

4 dives/Koh Tachai and Surin islands – the fourth day of our safari we start with two dives on KohTachai. The place is known for tortoises and leopard sharks. But also Manta and with some luck also a whale shark can be seen. Then we drive to the Surin Islands where we will make the remaining two dives of the day. Tortoises, big parrot fish, reef sharks, Napoleon and many other small reef inhabitants are to be found here. After the third dive we have the possibility to visit a sea Gipsy’s village on the Surin islands.

Day 5

Day 6

2 dives/Koh Tachai and Koh Bon – we do the first dive on Koh Tachai and then we drive for the last dive to Koh Bon, before we start the return journey to the harbour.

Trip M: Burma – Mergui Archipelago – Black rock, Western Rocky, Twin Island and Shark Cave – 7 days/6 nights (22 dives)

Day 1

Transfer by minibus to the harbour in Kuraburi or Ranong. Boarding the ship. Departure time is between 15:30 and 17:00 o’clock.

Day 2

We start with easy dives on High Rock and Rocky 1: Rays and Cobias are to be found here quite often, and many small fish are resident in the corals gardens. Cornetfish, angler fish as well as seahorses are to be found here often, just as many different kinds of nudibranches.
Two other dives in the afternoon will take place on one of the best diving places in the archipelago, the Shark Cave. This diving place is known for his nurse’s sharks who rest during the day in the cave, before they go hunting in the evening. Round the rock one also has a very good chance to see manta rays, eagle rays, grey sharks and with some luck also a whale shark. But also microorganisms, like seahorse, angler fish and cornetfish,  which live in the wonderful corals can be found here.

Day 3

On this day our adventure safari leads us to the probably best known dive sites in the archipelago, to Black Rock. Far from the coast in the open sea there lies this rock and it is a unique centre of attraction for rays and sharks which can be seen if there is good visibility. In the coral gardens all around the rocks countless small creatures are also resident. We find cornet fish and angler fish here regularly.

Day 4

On our third diving day we start with Twin Iceland, three dives around North Twin and a dive around South Twin. These remote divsites are on the west side of the archipelago to the open sea and offer especially good sights and the best chance for great fish. Gigant sea fans decorate these diving sites. They also attract rays and sharks.

Day 5

On the fourth diving day of our safari we visit the dive site The Arch, Boulder Rock and McLeod Island. Here the underwater world offers spectacular, wonderful and colorful soft corals with plenty of small stuff like cornetfish many different types of
nudibranches, schools of perches, as well as the possibility to see a whale shark on Boulder Rock. McLeod Island an excellent place for a night dive or to relax on one of the beautiful beaches.

Day 6

The fifth day of our safari offers breathtaking places like Seafan Forest Pinnacle, which is, covered with gigantic gorgonian around
the entire rock. Because of the remote position in the open sea, there is a good chance to see big fish likesharks and rays, also
Oktopusse, harlequin scrimps and sepias are resident on this site. After two dives here we move on to Western Rocky, to one of the most spectacular diving sites in the southern part of the archipelago. Here the highlight is the gigantic cave at 20-metre depth which runs through the whole rock. Even for beginners it is an easy dive, because from every point of the cave the exit can be seen. On the outide you can see any luck guitar rays, nurse sharks, grey sharks, sepias, angler’s fish, seahorses as well as a lot lobster, pimarily inside of the cave.

Day 7

On the last day of our safari we call at the dive sites Shark Point and Secret Lagoon. Here the dive sites you see wonderful, coloured corals with small hidden caves. Black point sharks, schools of tunas and perches, sting rays and also tortoises are inhabitants all around the islands. After our last dive in the morning we begin the return journey to Kawthaung in Myanmar. On arrival in this busy commercial town on the border to Thailand, we have some time to visit the local market. After completing the border formalities with the Burmese authorities we begin our second leg of the journey to Kuraburi in Thailand where we will arrive in the evening about 18:00 o’clock.
